Dr. Prakash Paudel

Dr. Prakash Paudel is a consultant Neurosurgeon and a spine specialist at Nepal Mediciti Hospital. His clinical expertise focuses on surgical management of both spine and brain-related pathologies. Dr. Paudel graduated from Maharajgunj Medical Campus Institute of Medicine (Tribhuvan University) in 2009. After MBBS, he completed 5-year neurosurgery residency (Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons) from Pakistan, awarded with Gold Medal. He has performed more than 500 spine surgeries including routine, emergency, and complex cases. Dr. Paudel is the only (and the first) fellowship-trained spine surgeon among Nepalese neurosurgeons. He did one-year university-based clinical spine surgery fellowship training from Canada with a special focus on tumor and complex spinal surgeries. Besides regular clinical work, he is actively involved in different international professional organizations and clinical research activities. He has published research articles and has presented his works in different national and international forums. His research interests include identifying factors that influence outcomes following surgery and minimizing complications. His approach with his patients consists of easy-to-understand conversations focusing on maximizing their improvement with conservative or surgical treatment.
